Iván Moricz Karl at Colección Georg

With his distinctive hyperrealist style, Iván offers a captivating look at the flora and fauna of Lanín National Park, in a collection that surprises for its detail and precision.

For the past 50 years, Ivan has lived at the western end of Lake Lolog, in a remote area with no land access, in a cabin that once belonged to a park ranger of Lanin National Park: no electricity and no communication other than a VHF radio. At 82 years old, he still spends his days in extreme weather conditions, which although for some might be inhospitable, for him are the source of inspiration that defines his pictorial work in the Patagonian region.

It often happens that the work and the artist are attractive in equal measure, and this is no exception. Contrary to what is expected of a hermit, he is a great host: he warmly receives visitors frequently during the summer, a time when he hardly paints at all. Like a squirrel, he saves his nuts: Ivan reserves his inspiration for autumn and winter, painting during the few hours of daylight he gets.
The exhibition at Colección Georg presents a diverse selection of inks and acrylics that reflect Ivan’s wide range of interests and talents. From vibrant paintings depicting lush vegetation to detailed portraits of local wildlife, each piece is a unique expression of Iván’s artistic genius and a celebration of the natural environment of Lanín National Park.

An outstanding feature of the exhibition is the way in which Iván captures the very essence of nature in his works, transporting the viewer to vivid landscapes and exciting wildlife encounters. His ability to convey the beauty and fragility of the natural world through his art is truly exceptional.

Colección Georg invites art lovers and the community at large to immerse themselves in the world of Iván Moricz Iván and discover the beauty and wonder found in his works. This is a unique opportunity to experience the richness and diversity of Lanín National Park through the eyes of one of the most talented artists of our era.
